Abstract

The issues of applying a soft-start apparatus (SSA) to conveyor start ups are considered in the article. SSAs use control of the first harmonic of asynchronous motor stator voltage for this purposes. The low efficiency of the existing SSA control circuits and algorithms for this class of drives for the criterion of mechanical loading reduction in the conveyor belt during start up is demonstrated. Control circuits and algorithms that allow one to raise SSA efficiency as the a.m. criterion are proposed.
