Extracting 1,3-dimethylpyrazole and 1,5-dimethylpyrazole from binary industrial mixtures

Abstract

The liquid–vapor phase equilibria in binary systems containing 1,3-dimethylpyrazole and 1,5-dimethylpyrazole are investigated. On the basis of the results, the relative volatility, the minimum and working numbers of theoretical plates, and the minimum and working reflux ratios are calculated, with a view to the production of individual isomers (>99% purity). The results are experimentally confirmed. It proves possible to separate 1,3-dimethylpyrazole and 1,5-dimethylpyrazole by rectification.
