Abstract

A phenomenological description of Coulomb energies is presented for more than 400 nuclei in the range of mass numbers A = 5–244. The Coulomb displacement energies between neighboring isobaric nuclei ΔE C (A, Z) are approximated using a two-parameter formula. The influence of deformation is taken into account for heavy nuclei. It is shown that the mean difference is less than 100 keV, which is better than for microscopic calculations. Magnitudes of ΔE C (A, Z) are calculated for heavy and superheavy nuclei up to mass number A = 300.
