This article outlines the concept of u-government. The objective is to analyze the key aspects of u-government development policy. The empirical section starts with a brief description of examples of u-government initiatives in different parts of the world. The last section of the article focuses on u-government initiatives and services in the Finnish public sector, which are used to exemplify the present state of development of u-government in the Nordic countries.
