Abstract:
Perspective-taking and emotion regulation are key life skills for overcoming intractability and promoting forward progress. I propose an adoption pedagogy as a useful context for fostering these skills—capitalizing on the universality of childhood and the emotionality of the parent-child relationship. Implications for increased praxis and social justice are discussed.
