The purpose of this paper is to understand the actual status of collocation management by Korean Japanese advanced learners and to present directions for collocation learning for advanced learners. To this end, the actual condition of collocation management of advanced learners was analyzed by extracting collocation used by learners in the composition and comparing them with native speakers using corpus containing compositions written by native speakers and advanced learners under the same theme. As a result, the following characteristics and problems of collocation management for advanced learners were identified. First, learners tend to use collocation acquired in the early stages more actively than native speakers. Second, not only the combination of words but also the use of collocation itself was strongly influenced by the mother language. Third, collocation and words selected to express the same meaning were often different from those of native speakers. Fourth, the area of meaning using words is very limited. Based on this, this paper presents the following directions for collocation learning for advanced learners. First, it is necessary to create a collocation list for advanced learners. Next, it is necessary to learn the usage of collocations that have already been acquired. Finally, attempts are needed to establish awareness of the use of collocation as a target language by presenting specific differences from the native speakers in detail.
