이 연구는 초등학교 문법 교육의 평가 방법에 대해 논의한 것이다. 문법 영역은 국어과의 한 영역이자, 언어 사용 기능과 밀접한 관련이 있다. 하지만 문법 영역의 중요성에 비해 평가에 대한 연구는 많이 이루어지지 않았다. 이는 문법 영역의 내용을 문법 지식으로 한정하고 있었기 때문에 지필 평가 위주의 단순한 평가가 지속적으로 이루어져 왔기 때문이다. 이러한 문제가 생기게 된 원인으로 문법 평가에 대한 인식 부족, 평가 요소에 대한 고민 부족, 평가 내용의 연계성 부족 등을 들고, 이를 개선한 방향으로 언어 사용 중심의 문법 수행 평가 지향, 평가 주체와 방법의 다양화 지향, 교수․학습 과정과 평가 결과의 순환화 지향 등을 제시하였다.
초등학교 문법 교육 평가는 학생들의 실제 생활 언어를 바탕으로, 언어 탐구 과정을 평가하고, 언어 사용 기능 영역과 통합적으로 이루어져야 한다. 이를 바탕으로 평가를 하게 되면 학생들은 자신의 언어 사용을 되돌아 볼 수 있게 되고, 문법이 교과서에만 존재하는 것이 아니라 일상생활 속에서 사용되고 있음을 알게 된다. 또한 자신의 언어 사용을 점검하는 과정에서 분석과 탐구, 설명과 일반화를 할 수 있는 언어에 대한 기초적인 인식 능력도 생겨나게 되는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 이를 위한 방법으로 문법 성취 기준을 구체화하고, 평가 기준을 명확하게 하며, 평가 문항 카드를 작성하고 평가 도구를 제작하는 과정을 설계하고, 그 방법을 제시하였다.
This study discusses how the evaluation of grammar method in elementary school. Grammar is an area of language arts. But compared to the importance of grammar for the evaluation was not done a lot of research. Because the grammar evaluation was limited grammatical knowledge. The cause of these have got a problem is lack of awareness of grammar evaluation, worry about the lack of evaluation factors, and assessment of the lack of connectivity. Direction to improve is performance assessment grammar, evaluation of the subject and how to diversify, teaching and learning process and the sum of the results of an evaluation cycle. Grammar assessment of students should be made to real-life language in elementary school. Evaluators to assess the process of exploring the language, the language used should be integrated with the language arts. Then, the students use their own language will be able to look back on. Students also exists only in grammar textbooks, rather than being used in everyday life are learned.
