This study aims to develop short forms of the self-consciousness scale( Sugawara, 1984), composed of 10 items and 6 items. In this study, factorial validity and criterion-related validity were examined. The latter was examined by confirming similar correlational patterns between relevant variables and the new scales compared to the original scale. Results indicated that the short forms of the selfconsciousness scale( SCS-10 and SCS-6) have good reliability and validity. These scales may contribute to future studies about self-consciousness.
