이 연구는 시몽동의 정보철학을 해명하고 그 현대적 의미를 살펴본다. 시몽동 정보철학은 MTC 정보이론과 노버트 위너의 사이버네틱스이론에 대한 비판적 이해를 토대로, 기술공학적 정보 개념과 개체화론 사이의 변조를 통해 구축된다. 시몽동은 의미 없는 메시지 신호의 전송 역량이 아니라 준안정성과 불균등화에 기초한 상호작용에서 정보의 발생적 조건을 찾고, 차이의 제어보다 새로운 차이의 변환적 생성에서 정보의 의미를 발견한다. 사이버네틱스가 계의 항상성과 안정적 형태 유지에서 정보 되먹임을 보았다면, 시몽동은 준안정적 계의 형태변화에서 정보의 변환 작용을 포착한다. 시몽동의 정보철학은 사이버네틱스의 학제적 연구를 동일성과 항상성의 패러다임에서 차이와 변환의 패러다임으로 재설정하고, 디지털 정보권에 거주하는 상이한 유형의 정보존재자들을 동일한 데이터뱅크로 환원시키는 데 초점을 맞추기보다는 그들이 변환적으로 소통하고 다양한 관계 구조를 발명하는 것에 주목하도록 만든다.

This study clarifies Simondon’s philosophy of information and examines its contemporary meaning. Based on his critical understanding of MTC information theory and Norbert Winner’s cybernetics theory, Simondon’s philosophy of information is built by modulation between the technological concept of information and individuation theory. Simondon finds the genetic conditions of information not in the transmission capability of meaningless message signals but in the interoperation based on metastability and disparation, and discovers the signification of information not in the control of differences but in the transductive creation of new differences. While cybernetics sees the information feedback from the homeostasis and the stable form-maintaining of system, Simondon captures the transductive operation of information from the transformation of metastable system. Simondon’s information philosophy newly establishes the interdisciplinary research of cybernetics not under the paradigm of identity and homeostasis, but under that of difference and transformation, and draws our attention to their transductive communication and their inventions of various relational structures, rather than focusing on reducing the different types of information beings residing in the digital infosphere to the same data bank.
