초록

Spent fuel is stored in the on-site storage of the nuclear power plant, but there is currentlyno disposal site for high-level waste, and the on-site storage facility of Hanbit NPPs is expected to besaturated in 2031. The construction of an interim storage facility is planned because it is difficult toexpand the storage facility. However, since road transportation is impossible under the Road TrafficAct, a preliminary assessment of the radiological effects was conducted for sea transportation that cantransfer a large amount of spent fuel. Since SF was not transported by sea in Korea, overseas cases wereinvestigated, and the exposure doses of transport crews and the general public during normal transportwere compared with the legal standard for KORAD-21 containers that had undergone land transportsafety evaluation using RADTRAN. In addition, the individual dose according to the route of the generalpublic at the time of an accident was compared. It was confirmed that the expected exposure dose underthe conditions set in this study was below the legal limit.
