초록

The International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) published ICRPPublication 103 and recommends using the representative person concept as an individualsto assess radiation dose. In order to apply the representative person concept to the Koreanregulatory system, it is necessary to analyze the change in radiation dose of the general publicwhen changing the habit data applying the representative person concept. In this study, theresults of dose assessment were compared when applying habit data of the current regulatorysystem and when applying habit data based on representative person concept. The age group wasselected for adults. Exposure pathways were selected as gaseous and liquid effluents pathways. Dose assessment methodology applied to the KINS regulatory guide 2.2. In the case of habitdata, ingestion rate and marine leisure activity time were considered. In order to analyze theradiation dose change according to the change in ingestion rate, the radiation dose assessmentwas performed by applying the 95th percentile value to the two main food groups for the ingestiondose and the average value to the other food groups. In order to analyze the radiation dosechange according to the change in marine leisure activity time, the radiation dose assessment wasperformed by applying the 95th percentile value to the two main marine leisure activity groupsfor the marine leisure activity dose and the average value to the other marine leisure activitygroups. The dominant food groups in ingestion dose were derived from grain and fruit. As a resultof performing a dose assessment applying a 95th percentile value of ingestion rate to all foodgroups, the radiation dose of residents was calculated as 7.80×10-2 mSv·y-1. Also, the radiationdose applying the 95th percentile ingestion rate for grain and fruit and the average value forother food groups, the radiation dose of residents was calculated as 6.48×10-2 mSv·y-1. Thedominant marine leisure activity groups in marine leisure activity dose were derived from boatingand shoreline activity. As a result of performing a dose assessment applying the 95th percentilevalue in marine leisure activity time to all marine leisure activity groups, the radiation dose ofresidents was calculated as 7.80×10-2 mSv·y-1. Also, radiation dose assessment applying the 95th percentile marine leisure activity time for boating and shoreline activity and the average value forswimming, the dose of residents was calculated as 7.80×10-2 mSv·y-1. As a result of analyzingthe change in radiation dose according to the change in habit data, it is expected that the residentdose will be reduced compared to the radiation dose applied with the method of habit data underthe current regulatory system. The results of this study will be used as a basis for introducing therepresentative person concept presented in ICRP Publication 103 in Korean regulatory system.
