초록

In a RPG, the basis of all the results obtained through the player's interaction with the character is in the story. Hence, the story design is an important element that guides the overall content design of the game and brings the player's interest and immersion. In game story design, the genre and location of the game must be considered. Stories are also an important part of the game, as many players are drawn to interesting stories to play the game. However, in unusual environments like the underwater world, game story design can be difficult. In traditional games, story designs that are not harmonized with genres or places are often found. A story that is not harmonized with a genre or place can have difficulty designing itself, raising the sense of alienation in the game and reducing the appeal of the story. These problems can cause players to lose immersion and halve the ‘fun’ that is the primary purpose of the game. This paper presents a story design method of RPG focusing on the place characteristics of the underwater world. We designed and implemented and underwater world RPG according to the proposed method and evaluated the design process. The evaluation confirmed the superiority of the proposed design method.
