대학의 글쓰기 강좌는 인문사고 함양을 위해 어떠한 수업을 진행해야 할 것인가라는 문제의식에서 시작되었다. 내러티브의 이해와 적용은 문해력(Literacy)은 물론 인문소양 함양의 유용한 방법과 준거를 제공한다. `탈분과학문 연구(postdisciplinary studies)`로서 인문학의 새로운 가능성을 탐색해 보려는 시도로 문예학 서적에 의거하지 않고, 인접학문에서 소설의 가치를 어떻게 규명하고 있는지 살펴보았다. 문화진화론의 관점에서 이야기는 인간의 친사회성 증진을 위해 진화해 온 유용한 예술이다. 인문과학의 관점에서 내러티브는 인간 활동의 다양한 에피소드들이 결합된 것으로 삶을 통합적으로 이해할 수 있는 기본 틀이다. 이러한 내러티브의 가치에 주목하여, 수업활동자료로 소설작품을 활용했다. 김유정의 소설 `동백꽃`을 모티프로 삼되, 학습자들은 모둠별로 새로운 캐릭터를 창조하여 우리 시대 사랑을 조명하는 작품을 창작했다. 학습자들은 새로운 관점으로 오늘날 지향해야 하는 다양한 사랑의 모습을 작품에 담아냈다. 물신화, 화려한 도시문명, 전쟁과 같은 외압에도 견뎌내는 사랑의 힘을 그려 냈다. 학습자들은 창작과 공연 후, 각색본을 대상으로 비평문을 작성했다. 1차 비평문이 다양한 각색본의 분석에 주목했다면, 첨삭 후 수정한 2차 비평문에서는 각색본의 분석을 바탕으로 자신이 지향하는 사랑에 대한 독자적인 시학을 서술했다. 학습자들은 그들의 관점으로 지금 이 곳이 지닌 문제들을 창작으로 구현해 냈으며, 그 과정에서 그들의 가치관을 구체화하고 확장시켜 나갔다.

What kind of lessons should a college writing course take to cultivate students` humanistic foundation? In this sense of problem consciousness, this study examined the actuality of writing for cultivating humanistic foundation utilizing novel works. Taking the novel as a material for class activity is because it focuses on the value of the narrative that the novel has. Understanding and creation of narrative provides useful opportunities for cultivation of humanistic foundation as well as analytical ability. As an attempt to explore the new possibilities of the humanities as `postdisciplinary studies`, this study examined how to identify the value of narrative in the neighboring disciplinary studies, not based on literary books. From the perspective of cultural evolution, narrative is a useful art that has evolved to promote human prosociality. From the perspective of cultural sciences, narrative is the union of various episodes of human activity and is a framework for understanding life in an integrated way. In a writing lecture in K college, this study analyzed the narrative of novel works for cultivating the humanistic foundation and made a new creation activity. They adopted Kim Yujeong`s novel `Camellia` as a motif but the learners created a new character for each group to create works that illuminated the love of our time. The learners put into their works various forms of love that they believed must exist these days with a new perspective. They drew up love enduring fetishism, brilliant urban civilizations, and external pressure of war. After the creation and the performance, the learners wrote the criticism on the adaptation patterns. If the primary criticism focused on the analysis of various adaptations, the second criticism after revision described the unique poetry of the love that they were pursuing based on the analysis of the adaptations. From their own viewpoints, the learners created the problems that there were at the present time by creation, and in the process they embodied and expanded their values.
