Fourth and fifth harmonic generation of a high average power Nd: YAG laser in β-BaB204 is reported. Overall energy conversion efficiencies of 17 and 0.6% were obtained for fourth and fifth harmonics at 0.2660 and 0.2128 μm. The destruction of temperature and angular phase-matching conditions caused by severe thermal loading is described.
