본 연구는 거부민감성, 지위불안감과 관계적 공격성 간의 관계에서 집단적-, 관계적-상호의존적 자아해석의 조절효과가 남녀 집단별로 차이가 있는지 살펴보기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해, 2016년 2월 실시한 중학교 1, 2학년 재학생 183명(남 86명, 여 97명)의 자기보고식 설문조사 결과를 분석한 결과, 거부민감성은 소녀의 관계적 공격성, 지위불안감은 소년의 관계적 공격성을 유의하게 예측하였다. 또한, 소녀의 경우 거부민감성과 관계적 공격성간의 관계를 관계적-상호의존적 자아해석이 조절하는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 관계적-상호의존적 자아해석을 많이 하는 소녀의 경우에만 거부민감성의 증가가 관계적 공격성의 증가를 예측하였다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 관계적 공격성을 줄이기 위한 개입방법에 대해 논의하였다.

The present study was to examine the gender-specific roles of rejection sensitivity and status insecurity on relational aggression and to explore the moderating effects of collective and relational-interpdependent self-construals. For this study, the self-report data of 183 7th-8th grade students were analyzed. Results indicated that status insecurity predicted boys' relational aggression whereas rejection sensitivity predicted girls' relational aggression. The relations between girls’ rejection sensitivity and relational aggression was only significant among those with strong relational-interdependent self-contruals. In other words, rejection sensitivity led to relational aggression only among girls whose self-definition is more strongly based on close relationships. Finally, implications for intervention were discussed to reduce relational aggression in each gender.
