신임경찰관의 입직동기에 관한 측정도구 개발 및 타당화 연구

A Study on the Measurement Tools Development and Validation of New Police Officer s Entry Motive

이 연구는 경찰이라는 직업을 선택하게 된 신임경찰관의 입직동기를 측정하기 위한 적합한 척도를 개발하고, 척도의 타당도를 검증하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 국내외 입직동기와 관련한 연구결과 및 측정도구를 고찰하였고, 이후 입 직동기 척도를 구성하는 요인들을 추출하여 예비문항을 구성하였다. 척도개발을 위해 중앙경찰학교 입교전 신임경찰관들(292기 960명, 293기 1,711명)을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 선행연구를 바탕으로한 입직동기는 6개 요인으로 구성되 었으나 이후 탐색적 요인분석을 통해서 5개의 요인(직업안정성, 대시민서비스, 우연성, 업무환경의 매력성, 권력성)을 최종적으로 추출하였다. 이 5개 요인은 이후 확인적 요인분석 결과에서도 적합도를 확인하였으며, 문항의 변경없이 초기 5개요인에 대한 문항이 적합한 척도임을 확인하였다. 다음으로 집중타당도와 판별타당도를 확인하였는데, 타당도 검증 결과 5개 요인의 타당성을 확보하였다. 최종적으로 이 논문에서는 앞선 연구결과를 종합적으로 검토하여 입직동기에 관한 정책적 제언 및 후속연구를 제안하였다.

The purpose of this study is to develop a suitable scale for measuring a new police officer s entry motive of selecting a job called police and to verify the validity of the scale. For this purpose, research results and measurement tools related to entry motive at home and abroad were examined, and after that preliminary questions were constructed by extracting the factors that make up the scale of the entry motive. New police officers (960 of 292th, 1,711 of 293th) were surveyed before entering the central police academy for scale development. The entry motive based on previous studies was composed of 6 factors but five factors were finally extracted (job stability, civic service, contingency, attractiveness of work environment and power) through the subsequent exploratory factor analysis. The suitability of these five factors was subsequently confirmed in the confirmatory factor analysis, and it was confirmed that the question of the initial five factors are appropriate scale without changing the question. Next, intensive validity and discriminant validity were confirmed, and the validity of the five factors was ensured as a result of the validity test. Finally, this paper comprehensively reviewed the results of the previous study and proposed policy suggestions and follow-up studies on the motivation for the entry motive.
