Abstract:
Research Integration to Teaching is a great challenge for the provision of qualitative training in universities and colleges. A number of studies indicate that this integration is a key component of a new refocus for the strategic fit of programs and curricula to industry demands. The purpose of this study is to elaborate on various approaches found on the literature for the mode of this integration and the elaboration of a research model for Research Integration to Teaching. We present the results of a preliminary analysis of a survey run in five countries, namely Greece, Italy, Spain, Lithuania and USA, resuted to the methods used for the integration of Research to Teaching. Finally, we present a strategic model that guides the relevant process as an outcome of the desktop research and the empirical data integration. The main findings are that the integration of Research to Teaching is an inevitable part of a new era of quality education and a number of prerequisites both in Administration and Scholarship performance are required in order to capitalize on Innovative Strategies. Last but not least, a number of skills and competencies of students are required and these should be incorprated to a continuous improvement process.
