Specificities of taste perception in children with oncological diseases

Taste disorders in paediatric oncology patients both during active treatment and in the rehabilitation phase have a negative effect not only on nutrition. long-term prognosis, treatment outcomes but also on the quality of life in general. The younger a child the more marked are long-term outcomes of impaired taste perception, since the human eating pattern is formed in childhood, when stable taste preferences are laid down and the attitude to the eating procedure is brought up.
