Abstract: With the mature application of UHV AC technology, the comprehensive comparison and selection of 1000 kV and 500 kV AC solutions is particularly important when facing the problem of strengthening the optimization of the main grid. In order to obtain the economic optimum, the energy saving and consumption reduction level of bit high voltage and ultra high voltage AC transmission technology is required. Therefore, for 1000 kV and 500 kV AC transmission technologies, the composition, basic principles and calculation methods of AC transmission losses are analyzed. Then, the line loss, transformer loss and station power consumption of UHV AC and UHV AC are calculated and converted into loss rate, so as to analyze the energy saving and consumption reduction level of 1000 kV and 500 kV AC transmission technology.
