Abstract

With the aid of new multimedia technologies, interaction design was becoming essential and increasingly incorporated into teaching and learning process. This paper investigated the interaction design and construction of user experience on a portable learning utility solution, named MOOCO-PLUS, which was a provider of an interactive educational community application developed especially for students and incorporated with the trend of local educational policy in Hong Kong. To properly tackle the challenges about the homogenization of elementary and secondary education, MOOCO-PLUS was designed through user-centered principles and interactive learning model. This paper analysed the interactivity in three perspectives: the formulation and effectiveness of teaching and learning process for the students to get participated; compared through vivid examples to highlight the merits and demerits on systematic evaluation and the various level of thinking when designing the content in terms of the combination of behaviourism and cognitive theories as a careful systematic creation of experience design that promote learning. Throughout a number of pilots executed on site, we confirmed the previous hypothesis that the solution brought merits to students in learning with feelings, thoughts, memory of past experiences, physical activity, and discussion among group members than just committed something to traditional approach.
