Abstract
What if you are committed to the vocation of artist, but can’t easily engage, or engage at all, in that system of discourse in normative ways? This paper considers the rise and global spread of studio workshops for artists with intellectual disabilities, and their connections to mainstream artworld structures and the field of Outsider Art.
