ABSTRACT

Research is an important and integral part of the graduate accounting curriculum as the profession demands extensive research skills from the graduating students. This paper discusses how the research components are incorporated in a graduate financial accounting course. Numerous short and medium size projects are given to students as a group or an individual work both in- and out-of-the classes requiring the use of public and subscription based data base and internet portal to help students achieve the appropriate level of skill set. Feedback from the students have been positive in regards to the effectiveness of the course structure.
