中國系 인물의 百濟 유입과 활동 양상

Influx of Chinese Characters into Baekje and their Roles

백제는 地政學的 이점을 활용하여 일찍부터 중국 왕조와 고구려로부터 선진문물을 수용하기 시작했다. 가야를 압박하여 대외교역의 주도권을 장악하고, 倭로의 항로를 안정화시켜 왜로부터 군사력을 지원받아 이를 대고구려 전투에 투입하거나 왜로 하여금 신라를 배후에서 견제하도록 하는 전략을 구사했다. 대외교섭과 문화교류뿐 아니라 인구이동의 측면에서도 백제는 타국에 비해 주목되는 면모를 보인다. 특히 漢四郡 설치와 여러 차례의 군현체제 변동, 그리고 낙랑군과 대방군이 4세기 초에 폐지되는 과정에서 중국계 인구가 유입되었다. 백제로 흡수된 이들 가운데 儒敎, 術數, 각종 기술 분야의 전문인과 그 이름이 확인되는 점 또한 고구려, 신라, 가야로 유입된 중국계 인구와 다른 점이다. 異邦人이었던 이들은 백제라는 異域에서 생존하기 위해 자신의 전문 분야를 보존하려 노력했다. 백제 정부는 소정의 절차를 거쳐 중국계 유이민을 公民化 해나갔을 것이다. 그리고 전문적인 직능을 가진 고급 인력은 점차 官僚化가 진행되어 백제의 지배체제 정비와 생산력 제고 및 외교 분야, 역사 기록 작업에 활용되었다.

Baekje embraced lots of advanced materials from ancient China and Koguryeo with the advantages of geopolitical conditions from the early days. On the other hand, she intended to get an initiative of foreign trade while pushing Gaya and to confront against Koguryeo with the forces which were despatched from Wa(倭). In addition, some features of human migration can be found between Baekje and Chinese Kingdoms. Specially, it were the periods of the establishment of 4 Commanderies of Han China(漢四 郡), changes of ruling system of those institutions, and the revocation of Lelang and Daifang Commanderies in the early 4th. C. when Chinese people migrated into Baeje. They had their specialties in Confucianism, administration and technology, who remains their names in historical materials. They tried to conserve their own fields for survival as strangers in foreign Kingdom, Baekje. The government of Baekje developed the ruling system, handicraft production, diplomatic skills, and compilation of history with the help of them as they were converted into the bureaucrats of Baekje.
