Recently, due to the expansion of the space of the online world and the development of innovative technology of smart terminals, the new social media award short clip discourse is showing a quantum leap forward. At a low cost, you can easily enjoy short forms in the field you are interested in on the YouTube or Facebook platforms, which can be easily watched anytime, anywhere. In recent years, with the emergence of a platform called TikTok in China, short clips showing various genres and different ways of communication have been shared, which is a trend in the form of a new new media that has spread all over the world and has a large number of users. In this paper, four representative images with a one-way and two-way communication discourse structure of short clips were selected as research subjects and observed by leaning on multimodal discourse analysis. As a result, by combining multiple modes of Linguistic, visual, auditory, literal, and gestural in the short clip, the content of the utterance is edited as efficiently as possible in a short clips to achieve communication, and unlike the one-way communication method of the existing format, it shows an innovative aspect of new media that does not feel boring at all by increasing simplicity and simultaneous entertainment. Therefore, from the creator’s point of view, it is useful to freely share self-expression, and from the viewer’s point of view, it is possible to enjoy entertainment along with seeking information or relieving stress. In such a short clips, we examined how to combine multiple modes of verbal, visual, auditory, gestural, and literal to maximize the video effect and maintain continuous use by users.
