본 연구는 환경교육 교원 양성과 관련하여 입학 전형에 따른 특성과 차이점을 탐색하고자공주대학교 사범대학 환경교육과에 재학 중인 학생들을 대상으로 진학 동기, 대학생활 만족도, 진로 계획 등을 설문조사하여 분석하였다. 또 2016년에 입학사정관 전형으로 지원한 학생들의 자기소개서와 학교생활기록부를 분석하였고, 2017년에 입학사정관 전형으로 응시한 학생들을 대상으로 추가 설문조사를 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 입학사정관 전형으로 입학한 학생들은 비입학사정관 전형으로 입학한 학생들에 비해 환경교육과 진학 결정 시기가 더 빠르고, 진학 결정 과정에서 동아리 활동과 관련 도서의 영향을 더 많이 받는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 이들은 대학에서의 활동에 더 자발적이고, 교사가 되지 못하더라도 환경교육을 계속 고려하겠다는 의지도 높았다. 비입학사정관 전형으로 입학한 학생들은 환경교사가 아닌 다른 교과의 ‘교사가 되기 위하여’ 환경교육과에 지원한 경우가 월등하게 높은 반면, 입학사정관 전형으로 입학한 학생들은 환경교사가 되고자 하는 의지가 더 높았고, 교사가 아닌 환경교육 관련 직업에도 더 큰 관심을 더 보였다. 이상의 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구는 중학생과 고등학생을 대상으로 하는 다양한 진로 탐색 프로그램(동아리 활동, 독서 자료 포함)과 정보가 가능한 일찍 제공되어야 하고, 입학 전형에 따라 차별화된 양성과정과 면담지도가 제공될 필요가 있음을 제안하였다. 다만 입학사정관 전형으로 입학한 학생의 수가 많지 않고, 대부분의 입학생이 아직 재학 중인 상황이기 때문에, 보다 신뢰할 수 있는 결과를 얻기 위해서는 앞으로 몇년간 지속적인 모니터링과 후속 연구가 필요할 것으로 보인다.
This study is aimed at comparing, analyzing and understanding career search and school learning activities of students majoring in environmental education by type of admission. For these purposes, a series of data collection, questionnaire surveys, and statistical analysis have been adopted in the selection of applicants for 2016. The results showed that students who have entered through admission officers (hereafter, admission officer group) decided on their major or career earlier, more active in school learning and career search behavior, and more positive for the future of environmental education area than students who have entered through the other types of admission (hereafter, non-admission officer group). The admission officer group seemed to have higher level of willingness to participate in environmental education activities even though they could not be a teacher. Based on these results, some suggestions including various career introduction programs for high school students, distinguished career development, and internship programs at social EE areas for EE major students by admission types were made. For better judgement and decision making, additional studies and continuing survey are needed since there have been only 35 students in the admission officer group for the last 5 years and only few of them graduated.
