금수현의 다양한 활동 가운데 교육자로서의 경험은 가장 본질적인 영역이다. 금수현은 음악가이자 교육자로서의 경험을 바탕으로 학교현장에서 효과적인 교육의 방편으로서 교육음악극 활동을 활발하게 추진했다. 이때 교재의 드라마화 방식을 활용하여 교육적 효과를 한층 높였다. 이 논문에서는 금수현의 교육음악극 제작 활동을 살펴보고, 교육음악극 〈페스탈로찌〉에 나타난 교육목적과 방법, 바람직한 교사의 자질과 역할을 고찰하였다.
〈페스탈로찌〉는 해방기 부산사범학교 교감으로 재직한 시기의 작품이다. 『학생극집』(1957)에 수록된 〈페스탈로찌〉를 분석한 결과, 도덕적 인간을 양성함으로써 사회개혁을 견인하고자 했던 교육의 가치, 단순 강의식이 아니라 직접경험과 감각적 체득을 강조하는 교육 방법, 책임의식과 전문성을 지닌 교사상을 제시하였다. 이를 통해 해방기 금수현의 교육적 지향과 새로운 민족교육건설의 과정에서 교육계가 중시한 민주주의 교육의 표상을 가늠할 수 있었다.

Among Geum Su-Hyun’s various activities, his experience as an educator is the most essential area. Based on his experience as a musician and educator, Geum Su-Hyun actively promoted educational music theater activities as an effective means of education in the school field. In addition, the educational effect was further enhanced by using the dramatization method of textbooks. This paper looked into Geum Su-Hyun’s educational music theater production activities, and examined the educational purpose and method, and desirable qualities and roles of teachers in the educational music theater “Pestalozzi”.
“Pestalozzi” was a work of the period when he served as the vice principal of the Busan School of Education during the liberation period. As a result of analyzing “Pestalozzi” in the Theater script collection for student(1957), this book presented the value of education that tried to drive social reform by fostering moral humans, educational method that emphasizes direct experience and learn from sense, not just a lecture format, and a character of teacher with a sense of responsibility and expertise. Through this analysis, it was possible to assess the educational orientation of Geum Su-Hyun, and the democratic education, which the educational area considered important in the process of building a new national education during the liberation period.
