Abstract:
An efficient and suitable protocol for cell suspension culture establishment has been defined in the strawberry cultivar Pajaro.
Growth and viability characteristics of cells in culture have been analyzed; the sigmoid curve is defined in 20 days of culture, with an initial optimal concentration of 5ml/20 ml (cells/medium). The best medium was composed of B5 Gamborg salts supplemented with 2.3 μM 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D). Preliminary studies on isoperoxidase activity are also presented; cathodal isoperoxidases did not show any polymorphism related to the growth of cells.
