본고는 기억과 경험의 상관성에 관하여 두 가지 다른 유형의 읽기 과제 수행 결과를 통하여 밝히고자 하였다. 읽기 과제의 분석 결과 1, 2차 과제 수행 모두에서 경험과 단어 기억 정도는 비례했다. 반복 실험을 하더라도 모두 단어의 평균 정답수와 분포는 경험과 비례한 결과를 보였다. 한편 장기기억 내의 정보가 단어 기억의 방해 요소로 작용할 수 있음을 보였다. 경험이 많은 읽기과제수행 결과에서 잘못 기억한 단어의 빈도가 더 높게 나타난 점이 이를 반증한다. 4장에서 경험이 단어의 인출을 방해한다는 근거에 대하여 피험자의 오답 단어 분석을 통해 언어학적 분석을 시도하였다. 오답 유형은 제시단어와 인출단어 간의 어휘적 의미관계에 따라 ‘유의관계’, ‘대립관계’, ‘상하위 관계’, ‘부분관계’로 유형화가 가능하고, ‘주제효과’에 따라 ‘유추에 의한 단어’와 ‘내용을 압축한 단어’로 나눌 수 있다. 특히 유형화는 기억 과정에 반영된 피험자의 의식적 ․ 무의식적 연상이 개별적이지 않고 보편적인 심리현상을 보인다는 점에서 흥미롭다.
In this paper, word-memory tests are conducted through letting the subjects read two different materials presented objective data about the relation between experience and word-memory, and examined psychological elements that influenced on the memory process through linguistic analysis. Even repeated tests seemed to show the results that the average number of answers and distribution are proportional to experience. However, it doesn't necessarily mean that the relation between experience and word-memory is always proportional; the effects of short term memory and the information from long term act as distraction elements. In Chapter.4, the subjects' false words on the basis that experience prevent them from recalling correct words were analyzed. Each false word is the presented word or the one that is related with a topic. The result of analysing each word by the co-relation between the meaning of the word and topic reflect the psychological aspects that bring in the memory process consciously or unconsciously.
