The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) Agreement is an Asia-Pacific regional trade agreement currently being negotiated among the United States and eight other partners. The United States’ TPP negotiating partners are Australia, Brunei, Chile, Malaysia, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, and Vietnam. This study analyzes the TPP of the recent negotiations. This agreement will build on the Trans-Pacific Strategic Economic Partnership Agreement (P4) between Brunei Darussalam, Chile, New Zealand and Singapore, which entered into force in 2006. The TPP includes the P4 Parties as well as Australia, Peru, the USA, Vietnam and Malaysia. The negotiations are being divided into 24 sectors. The negotiations are led by the United States substantially. The TPP has the potential to form a building block for Asia-Pacific regional economic integration.
