암묵증진이론에 기반한 학습목표지향성 향상 프로그램의 개발과 효과

Dweck(1988)에 의하면 사람들은 지능이나 능력에 대한 암묵적 이론을 가지고 있으며, 이는 고정이론과 증진이론으로 나눌 수 있다. 개인의 지능이론에 따라 능력계발에 대한 암묵적 목적인 ‘목표지향성’이 다르게 나타나며, 목표지향성은 개인이 어떠한 과제를 수행하는 데 인지, 정서, 행동에 많은 영향을 끼쳐 성격강점인 학구열, 호기심과도 밀접한 관계가 있는 것으로 보인다. 많은 선행연구가 목표지향성이 조작적 개입을 통해 변화 가능함을 증명하고 있으나, 국내에는 이러한 프로그램연구가 미비한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 암묵증진이론을 바탕으로 학습목표지향성 향상 프로그램을 개발하고 그 효과를 살펴보았다. 그 결과, 처치집단의 지적능력에 대한 증진신념, 학습목표지향성, 학구열 및 호기심이 의미 있는 수준으로 향상되어 개발된 프로그램의 효과가 증명되었다.

This research aims to develop a program for promoting learning goal orientations and verify its effect. According to Dweck (1988), people hold implicit theories about their intelligence and ability. Some believe a fixed theory. Others believe an incremental theory. Individuals’ intelligence theories determine their goal orientation, which is an implicit purpose of ability development. And individuals’ goal orientation greatly affects their cognition, emotion and behavior. Also, learning goal orientations seem to be closely related to love of learning and curiosity, which are character strengths. Previous studies proved that goal orientations can be changed through intervention. However, in Korea, no research on program development has been carried out. Accordingly, this research developed a program for promoting learning goal orientations, based on an incremental implicit theory. the research is meaningful in that a program was developed by using the incremental implicit theory, and the program significantly increased juveniles’ incremental implicit theory, learning goal orientations, love of learning and curiosity. And it is meaningful in that the research practically measured the selection of the level of difficult in tasks, the program was economical in terms of shorter implementation period than the previous programs, and finally the number of subjects was enough to verify the effect of the program. In a follow-up research, other treatments toward the control group will have to be done and a post-test will be needed.
