Abstract: 233 retired fishermen were investigated, who live in Chishui River and Honghu River of the Yangtze River Basin. Based on the partial least squares structural equation model, a satisfaction model of compensation policy for fishing ban was constructed from three dimensions of family endowment, policy cognition and policy implementation, and its influencing factors and influencing paths were explored. The results showed that economic capital and social capital had a significant positive effect on family endowment, while human capital and natural capital did not pass the significance test. From the perspective of path coefficient, the path coefficient of the three dimensions of family endowment, policy cognition and policy implementation to policy satisfaction was 0.262, 0.198 and 0.435 respectively. From the perspective of mediation effect, family endowment indirectly affects policy satisfaction through policy cognition. Establishing a diversified fishing ban compensation system to ensure timely payment of compensation funds, effectively improving the education level of fishermen, and actively exploring the channels for fishermen to different industries can further enhance the satisfaction of the compensation policy, so as to ensure the effectiveness of the Yangtze River conservation policy.
