Abstract: As one of the key technologies of "digital earth",remote sensing technology has been widely used in mineral resources exploration and other fields because of its ability to discover and solve geological problems that are difficult to be discovered and solved by conventional geological methods, and it has achieved many research achievements. In this paper, taking the 3602 uranium mining rights of Namibia in Africawho is one of the countries along the "one Belt and one Road" as research area, structure identification and ore-controlling analysis were carried out based on the multi-spectral ETM + and high-resolution QuickBird data and information extractiontechnology. The interpretation marks of faults were constructed from the aspects of lay, structure, water systemand landform, and the interpretation marks of folds were constructed from the aspects of hue and graphics, turning ends, and special water systemsbased on the principle of image linear feature recognitionand the discontinuity of image texture. Furthermore, main fault and fold structures developed in the area were recognized. Combined with the uranium metallogenic characteristics and distribution of known uranium deposits and anomalous points, the paper analyzed the controlling effect of the fault and foldstructures on uranium mineralization in the research area, and proposed the main uranium prospecting direction. The results provided technical support for promoting the exploration and development of uranium resources in Namibia.
