A contribution to studies of the flora of centric diatoms (Centrophyceae) in reservoirs of the eastern mountainside of the Polar Urals (Russia)

ABSTRACT

As a result of SEM studies of phytoplankton from lakes and rivers (21) of the eastern mountain side of the Polar Urals, 23 taxa of centric diatoms belonging to seven genera (Aulacoseira, Cyclostephanos, Cyclotella, Melosira, Paralia, Pliocaenicus, Stephanodiscus) were revealed. Eleven species and varieties are reported for the first time for the studied region.
