Jacobs ABSTRACT Five Mexican hallucinogenic fungi: Psilocybe chaconii, P. mesophylla, P. oaxacana, P.pileocystidiata, and P. singularis, are described as new species. They were gathered in the States of Oaxaca (three) and Veracruz (two). With these five new species, there are almost 50 known hallucinogenic species of Psilocybe in Mexico, the country with the highest number of hallucinogenic mushrooms in the world.
