ABSTRACT
Non-steady two-dimensional diffraction problems on canonical surfaces are well examined [1, 2]. We consider a new problem of cylindrical acoustic wave diffraction on a thin elastic elliptical shell. A hydrodynamic pressure on the shell's surface is determined using the transition function, based on thin-layer hypothesis [3-6]. The shell's motion equations based on shear considering model [8] and derived from its tensor form in a Maple environment [10] are numerically integrated using finite difference method in Matlab [11].
