장애인 보호자를 위한 지원 실태 및 개선 방안

장애인 보호자의 인식을 중심으로

본 연구는 장애인 보호자가 인식하는 장애인 보호자 지원의 실태 및 개선 방안을 살펴보기 위하여 장애인 보호자를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 총 211명의 장애인 보호자가 설문조사에 응답하였으며, 수집된 설문자료는 기술통계를 활용하여 분석하였다. 첫째, 대부분의 장애인 보호자는 장애인을 돌보는 데 하루 10시간 이상을 할애하고 있었다. 장애인 보호자는 장애인 보호자를 위한 지원의 필요성을 매우 높게 인식하고 있었으나, 이러한 지원을 경험하지 못한 경우가 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 장애인의 보호자가 경험한 지원은 교육적, 심리･정서적, 의료적, 일상 및 사회활동 지원 영역에 따라 달리 나타났다. 마지막으로, 장애인 보호자들은 장애인 관련 정보 전달 체계의 확립 및 장애인의 생애주기에 따른 정보 제공을 필요로 하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과에 토대하여 장애인 보호자 지원을 위한 다양한 개선 방안을 제시하였다.

The survey study aimed to investigate the current practices and improvements of the support system provided for caregivers from the perspectives of caregivers of persons with disabilities. A total of 211 participants responded to the developed survey, and the collected data were analyzed by using frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, and chi-squared tests. Most caregivers spent more than 10 hours per day caring for persons with disabilities. The participants perceived a high need for support that targeted caregivers, although almost half had no experience using the support. The support areas the caregivers experienced were different based on the types of the support areas. Lastly, a system that offers comprehensive information about available support according to the life cycle of persons with disabilities was considered essential. The study discussed improvement ways for the support system for caregivers based on the findings of the study.
