The purpose of this research is to explore variables that affect the job satisfaction of college graduates through the 2017 GOMS data using data mining techniques specifically sparse group lasso(SGL) model. This study applied SGL model which can simultaneously consider the characteristics of the variables groups and the individuality that only significant variables can be selected within the variable groups. The main analysis results were as follows. First, the college graduates’ had a high probability of being externally satisfied with their job when their workplace and college education along with their college major were more matched, satisfied with their college education, satisfied with their major, the size of their workplace was bigger, their average monthly income were higher. Also when their major was education, if they work for a government agency, if they have a full-time job, if the workplace have a trade union, if the college graduate was male, the college graduates were more externally satisfied with their job. Second, the college graduates’ had a high probability of being internally satisfied with their job when their job and college education along with their major were more matched, satisfied with their college education, satisfied with their major, their average monthly income were higher. Also when their major was education, if they have a full-time job, if the workplace have a trade union, if the college graduate was male, the college graduates were more internally satisfied with their job. The results above were consistent with the results of prior researches in general terms. Third, it was newly discovered that job and employment plans, current health conditions, and life satisfaction for the next year, which were not shown in prior research, were variables that could affect the internal and external job satisfaction. Based on the results above, the implications for policy for future college education and employment were discussed.
