The purpose of this study was to examine infusion of new technology and new sounds created acceptance and appreciation would inspiring positive change among the high school student. For examining this research’s problem the new developments in dance particularly the presentation of folk dances in the new genre were reviewed. A survey was conducted to be able to collect the necessary information from a sample of the target market population through questionnaires accomplished after viewing Bayanihan performances at the Cultural Center of the Philippines. Done during the season production of the dance company. The season production entitled “On Golden Wings of Dance” featured both the classics and innovative works. Our question was answered through a survey taken from a sample from the high school and college students who watched during the four day presentation. Two hundred students were drawn from among almost 2,000 students who booked the shows.
As a result, the students enjoyed the least was the “Spanish suite” because the dances belonged to an era which they cannot seem to understand and connect with. Of the many theatrical values that appealed to them the most, colors ranked first, with 92% ; Lighting ranked 2nd with 91%; choreography ranked 3rd with 89.3% and costumes ranked 4th with 86.9%. These are the four most significant theatrical values that appealed to the students.
