초록

The purpose of this article is to introduce of multi-media theatre in China and its outlook including my own productions. Despite pursuing a different profession, my training in Architecture has a great impact in my sensibility towards space and visuals. And my passion for Theatre originates from my interest in human behavior and psychology. Therefore, I am particularly interested in two types of theatrical performances – one that can move the audience solely through the work of an actor; and one that is magnificently creative in its visuals and use of space. As Architecture was my first training, I am more fluent in spatial aesthetics and more familiar with computer technicalities. This has offered me the proficiency and opportunities to participate in quite a few Theatre productions that involved Multi-Media. Here, I would like to share my creative processes and to highlight two occasions that have influenced me more profoundly. Recently, VR (Virtual Reality), AR (Augmented Reality) and MR (Mixed reality) have created a lot of enthusiasm. Allof them can potentially offer a new impact on the creative process in theatre making, just like what film has done when it first came into the market. Amongst them, AR and MR seem to have bigger potential for theatre.
