초록

프랜차이즈 운영에서 구매의 비중은 가장 중요한 부분을 차지하고 있다. 특히 국내 프랜차이즈의 대부분을 차지하는 소매업 분야의 프랜차이즈는 비용과 수익에서 구매 관리의 역할에 크게 좌우된다. 이미 제조업분야에서 유효성이 검증된 적시구매(JIT purchasing)기법은 서비스업에서도 엄청난 비용절감 잠재력이 있음을 선행연구들은 제시하고 있다. 향후 국내경제의 성장엔진으로 등장할 서비스 프랜차이즈 업계는 짧 은 연륜에도 불구하고 양적성장을 이루고 있으나 동시에 선진기법을 수용해야 하는 당면과제를 안고 있다. 본 논문은 적시구매 기법을 어떻게 프랜차이즈 업계에 적용시 켜 높은 성과수준, 즉 생산성 개선효과를 얻으려는가에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 연구에서 3가지 논리적 차원으로 구분된 적시구매는 시간, 공간, 관계적 차원으로 나뉘어 각각 다른 성과수준에 도달할 수 있게 하며 이들 차원 사이의 연관된 특성도 보여준다. 이 이론모델은 프랜차이즈 사업성과를 높이기 위한 시사점을 제시할 것이다.
