Additional information

Rodney C. Ewing is professor of geology in the Department of Geology at the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque. His recent research has centered on the alteration of glasses and radiation damage in complex oxides. He was associate editor for the proceedings volumes for the MRS symposia on the Scientific Basis for Nuclear Waste Management held in Berlin in 1982, Boston in 1984, and Stockholm in 1985.

Bryan C. Chakoumakos is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Geology at the University of New Mexico. His research centers on the structural chemistry of radiation damage in solids, the solid state structure and chemistry of inorganic materials, and the crystallization of volatile-rich silicate melts.

Gregory R. Lumpkin is a PhD candidate in the Department of Geology at the University of New Mexico. His research interests are in the crystal chemistry of rock forming minerals, the chemistry and radiation effects of uranium and thorium minerals, and the mineralogy of meteorites.

Takashi Murakami is a visiting research scientist in the Department of Geology at the University of New Mexico. He is on leave from the Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute, Department of Environmental Safety Research, Tokai, Ibaraki, Japan. His expertise involves radiation damage in minerals and in nuclear waste forms and the alteration of glasses.
