Zusammenfassung
Mit „Gutenberg Biographics“ steht seit 2016 eine Datenbank mit Biographien Mainzer Gelehrter online zur Verfügung. In der ersten Ausbaustufe werden alle Professorinnen und Professoren der Jahre 1946 bis 1973 erfasst. Die Erweiterung um die Professoren der alten Mainzer Universität sowie die fortschreitende Ergänzung bis in die Gegenwart ist mittelfristig geplant. Durch die Verwendung von Normdaten wird Gutenberg Biographics mit anderen Online-Ressourcen vernetzt. Weitere Möglichkeiten der Interoperabilität sind angelegt. Dadurch bietet der Katalog ein enormes Forschungspotenzial für die digitalen Geisteswissenschaften.
Abstract
With “Gutenberg Biographics” a database containing biographies of Mainz University’s scholars is provided since 2016. In the first development stage all professors who were affiliated to the University in the period from 1946 to 1973 are recognized. For the medium term, it is planned to integrate the data of professors coming from the Old University Mainz as well as to continuously enlarge the data to the present day. Using authority data, Gutenberg Biographics is networked with other online resources. Further interoperable possibilities are configured. Therefore the catalogue offers a huge research potential for the digital Humanities.
