Abstract: A compact dual-band band pass filter using two end-to-end T-shaped resonator with two symmetrical vertical open-ended stubs and defective ground surface (DGS) is proposed in this article. The proposed filter resonates at 2.41 and 5.52 GHz, which are suitable for application in wireless local area network (WLAN). In addition, mathematical analysis for the equivalent circuit analysis is presented. The proposed dual-band band pass filter provides 3 dB fractional bandwidth of 16.97% and 11.16%, return loss (|RL|) of 20 dB and 24 dB and insertion loss (|IL|) of 0.82 dB and 0.81 dB respectively at resonance frequencies. The simulation of the proposed filter is done with HFSS13 and to validate the simulation, a prototype is fabricated with optimised and miniaturised size found to be (24.7 × 16) mm2.
