Abstract: In this paper, we propose to investigate on the fractional-order DC-DC buck-boost converter by carrying out the dynamics of the said system and eventually controlling it using an uncertain and disturbance estimator (UDE). The dynamics analysis is performed making use of bifurcation tools and phase portraits showing that the complexity of the system increases as the fractional-order increases. Based on the Lyapunov stability and some stringent conditions and hypothesis, we suggest necessary and sufficient conditions for the robustness of the integral sliding mode control problem with adaptive laws. The proposed technique allows the acquisition of the approximate plant model with little information of systems parameters. The proposed control is able to compensate the effects of matched and mismatched uncertainties and tolerates the undesired transient response. Simulations results confirm the effectiveness of the strategy in two scenarios (open loop and closed loop) with matched and mismatched disturbances.
