Abstract	The article deals with the implementation of the policy of economic growth of the national economy on the basis of the development of macroregions, urban agglomerations and mineral resource centers of Russia. Attention is focused on the need to create a well-organized system of management of these important elements of the territorial structure of the economy, the implementation of long-term strategic planning procedures within their framework. The possible role of associations of economic interaction of subjects of the Russian Federation in management of development of macroregions is considered.
