Abstract: The folk legend Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai has gone through three key stages since the Eastern Jin Dynasty. The upper tradition and lower traditions are clashing,exchanging and fusing with each other in every stage. Studying on the history of the Butterfly Love from the upper and lower traditional perspectives can have more in-depth analysis of the origin,connotation,theme,influence and so on. At the same time,it can provide a new perspective of sociology for reference source and the prospect of further study of folklore.
