Abstract: Allelochemics in inhibiting algae are secondary metabolites of plants. They can degrade under natural conditions. They will not accumulate in the ecosystem for a long term, and are ecologically safe. Therefore, allelochemics in inhibiting algae have a good application prospect. The paper investigates the allelopathy mechanism in inhibiting algae. The specific research plan was discussed. They also provide foundations for the study on the effective control measures of algae blooms in Three Gorges Reservoir Area by allelopathic algal inhibiting technology.
