Abstract: According to the electro-optical properties of Holographic Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal(H-PDLC),i.e.it can appear a state of "on" or "off" for light beam when adding an electric field.The single channel and double channel electrically controlled optical chopper for square wave and sinusoidal wave is studied,respectively.This kind of optical chopper owns the characteristics of stable frequency,high speed responsibility(maximum to microsecond level),easy to integrate due to its small size and noiselessness.In addition,the frequency,duty ration and waveform of electric field can be expediently controlled by computer to achieve the purpose of intelligent modulation optical.
