Abstract: Influence of content, grinding process and fineness of basalt on the compatibility of cement and superplasticizer was studied by the Marsh cone method and the paste fluidity method. The results showed that pregrinding the clinker and basalt separately, and then grinding them together, this mode could improve the particle distribution of cement that doping basalt powder, reduce the packing porosity of cement, and improve the compatibility of cement and superplasticizer. The compatibility of superplasticizer and cement with 6% basalt powder was the best, even better than that of free basalt. In industry production, the recommended basalt and clinker grinding process was pregrinding and then mixed grinding, and control the content of basalt lower than 6%.
