Abstract: Taking one of the most important historical buildings,Sanshan Guildhall,as a reference framework in the design of Shanghai Guildhall Historical Museum,we were trying to identify adaptive strategies of the new buildings to the old ones on the aspects of space,time and value identification, and proposing an inherited "Way of Solution" in the existing context,an innovative "Way of Response" in the context of time and a "Way of Harmony" to coordinate diverse social value identifications.
